Lucy is the founder and service director of Sense Inclusion who looks after the day-to-day management, development, and growth of the service.
Lucy has directed and managed services and support provision for children and young people with complex backgrounds and high support needs for many years. She has extensive experience working with looked after children, care leavers, educational underachievers, SEN, young offenders, NEETs and children and young people with complex Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Lucy is an experienced and qualified manager, trainer and development coach having held management and project leader roles both on the island and on the mainland in a variety of settings including local authorities, further education colleges, alternative education and supported housing. She has also worked in SEND Education consultancy, training and advocacy and has completed qualifications and training in a variety of subjects including youth work, coaching and development, NLP, developmental trauma, education, children’s mental health, safeguarding and advanced SEN law. She also hold a first-class honours degree focused on therapeutic alternative education and takes part in regular CPD to keep her knowledge up to date.
As an adoptive parent to two children, she has a genuine appreciation and personal understanding of the challenges that come with supporting children with complex educational, social, emotional, and mental health needs. Combining her personal and professional experience, Lucy can support and assist parents and carers, schools, and other services; Along with collaborating with parents and other services to meet the needs of the complex children and young people referred to our service.
