Ian is one of our founding volunteer board directors and his role is to ensure the organisation fulfils its objectives and meets the needs of the community it is intended to serve. Ian attend regular meetings with the other directors, sharing his knowledge and experience of working with children, offering advice, guidance and support to the management and development of the organisation.
Ian has been teaching in primary schools on the Island for nearly 20 years years. He currently teaches in a mainstream primary setting but prior to this, worked in specialist education.
Ian is passionate about supporting children with SEND and appreciates the importance of their wider social and emotional needs. Ian has gained experience over the years in supporting children with SEND, mainly in developing speech and language and communication skills which heavily involved developing social skills. This invaluable experience continues to impact his work with children and families, both in schools, and with Sense Inclusion.
