Flash is our sports and fitness lead (and football fanatic) who has many years’ experience of working with children and young people, including those with complex SEMH needs.
Flash has an ability to engage children and young people in physical activity which develop gross motor skills, balance and co-ordination, social skills and overall fitness levels.
Flash is passionate about using sports and fitness to promote positive mental health and his engaging personality enables him to effectively communicate with children and young people of varying additional needs.
Flash is a Level 3 qualified personal trainer and is in the unique position of being one of the UK’s very few certified sensory fitness coaches having successfully completed an accredited sensory fitness training programme from America. Along with his specialist sports and fitness qualifications, he is also trained in PACE, developmental trauma and MHFA Children and Young People’s Mental Health First Aid.
Flash can create bespoke sensory fitness plans from occupational therapy recommendations, along with implementing sensory diets, sensory circuits and any other activities which develop core strength and muscle tone, helping to meet the complex sensory needs of the children and young people we work with.
